Tuscan Panini


The flavours of the Tuscan countryside come to life in this vegetarian delight. Red Thai Sauce, with its fiery blend of Asian herbs and spices, adds intense passion to grilled Portobello mushrooms, melted goat cheese and avocado. These beautiful tastes are then brought together on a fresh Panini bun, with frisee lettuce and Zesty Orange Ginger Sauce. Simply mouth-watering.


YIELD: 2 Sandwiches


Ingredients: Imperial Metric
Saucemaker Red Thai Sauce cup 60 mL
Saucemaker Zesty Orange Ginger Sauce cup 60 mL
Panini or large roll 2 2
Large portabello mushroom 1 1
Avocado 1 1
Goat cheese cup 60 mL
Frisee lettuce

Method:

  1. Slice portabello mushroom and brush slices with Saucemaker Red Thai Sauce.
  2. Grill 3-5 minutes until soft and grill marks form.
  3. Slice panini, spread goat cheese on one side and brush with Saucemaker Zesty Orange Ginger Sauce on the other side. Put under broiler until cheese melts.
  4. Add portabello slices, tomato, lettuce.
  5. Cut sandwich and serve with a mixed Mesclun salad, with fresh pansies.

TIP: Capture even more on the lively Thai flavour by generously brushing the panini with Saucemaker Zesty Orange Ginger Sauce. For an authentic grilled sandwich, place under a grill press before serving!
